As a footwear manufacturer, you need the assurance for your warehousing and logistics processes that your production sites are always stocked with material from a production-related warehouse as and when required. You also want an overview of which goods are where by using a goods and inventory tracking system. Having our warehouse management system (WMS) at hand, you have a powerful tool that enables you to navigate and monitor your material and goods flows in a flexible, transparent and efficient manner.
The WMS not only supports you in standard management processes within your warehouses, but also in, for example, the implementation of value-added services, cross-docking and the integration of the latest automation technologies in your warehousing structures. Our WMS provides the best possible scalability for your needs and is therefore suitable for all warehouse types ‒ from small and transparent to large and complex. And you can easily access required ERP data in WMS via a connection to one or more of cpa.ShoeFactory’s ERP systems.
Thanks to decades of experience in the footwear industry, we know how to effortlessly manage merchandise. cpa.ShoeFactory ERP and WMS especially exhibit their true colours when it comes to assortment-managed goods and we are glad to share our knowledge by offering you a whole range of cpa.ShoeFactory products.
Do you receive complaints about your products or incorrect deliveries? Or do you need to manage different goods qualities and are consequently faced with considerable additional work? And do your customers need proof of the countries of origin or are interested in the supply chain stages or history of your goods?
Our WMS is able to seamlessly map the path of a specific item in a warehouse by using its associated serial number. This means that from incoming goods via packaging to outgoing goods including transport to the customer, each detail relating to every movement and storage location is logged and traceable. If required, the history of each article can be completely mapped, with additional linked information about its production or the supplier, through to the retailer or the customer.
To do this, you simply enter the required information about the product by using corresponding barcodes without any extra effort at all. Proof of origin and quality are available in our WMS and can be retrieved as needed. This is an huge advantage in a trade world that is becoming more and more fragmented.
Do you use special labels for many of your goods or need special shipping documents for certain customers? Or different retailers request that you provide them with particular combinations and preparations for shipping? And the above-mentioned services generate time-consuming and cost-linked extra work for you?
The aforementioned requests are examples of customisation, so-called value-added services. The same applies to packaging constraints, palletising regulations or predefined delivery periods. Our WMS provides you with practical support so that you can flexibly fulfil the most diverse special requests from your customers.
WMS provides you with defined workflows to configure the system settings you require. As an option, you can also configure the logging of performed steps for value-added services. This helps you monitor the processing status or invoice your customer for a special request as a service and gives you maximum flexibility, while allowing you to use this feature as a competitive advantage.
With our WMS, you can use warehousing automation precisely where you need it. Automation assists you in performing your processes and facilitates work for people on site in the warehouse. Scales, volume laser scanners or foiling machines can be integrated into WMS in the same way as target communication with fork-lift trucks or pick-by-voice and pick-by-robot systems. Everything is ready for immediate use after integration.
Our WMS has state-of-the-art interfaces to communicate with external technical equipment and systems. Complex conveyor equipment, for example, can also be incorporated in such a way that it is integrated into your processes so as to function either in a partially or fully automated way. This keeps things moving!
Do you process goods for several group companies and need to separate details of ownership? Or do you, as a service provider, also stock a competitor’s goods in your warehouse? This is in no way problematic because CPA’s WMS knows which company goods belong to who, because a WMS-managed warehouse can stock goods belonging to several clients or owners. The associated warehousing processes can also be distinguished according to the client. In a multi-client warehouse, storage locations therefore do not have to be separate, nor is it mandatory to have separate storage for each owner.
Product information can originate from cpa.ShoeFactory or another ERP system, or from both, as WMS can manage multiple data sources.
From a practical point of view, goods are simply identified using barcodes. Information about ownership of the goods is thus automatically available. The barcode entry prevents allocation errors from occurring in the first place and provides you with an up-to-date picture of the status and whereabouts of each item at all times. Furthermore documents, such as delivery notes and parcel labels, can be generated and included with the goods in the corresponding layout of the goods' owner or the dispatching company.
This means that the WMS is not only group-compatible, but it can also act as a pure service provider – just as you want it.
Our warehouse management system's interfaces are configured in such a way that you can effortlessly connect external systems to WMS, including hand-held scanners with varying resolutions at the incoming goods area, automated warehouse conveyor technology and PCs in a control centre, mobile technology in a warehouse or a central ERP system such as cpa.ShoeFactory. WMS supports all standard devices used in your warehouse while existing hardware can continue to be operated in most cases. Menus and resolutions are user-driven and can be freely assigned to software tasks. This gives each warehouse team member a customised range of functions for his or her warehousing activities.
We provide support across the entire spectrum from analogue to digital and transform your warehouse staff into a resourceful team!
When drop shipping, the required footwear is not delivered to the retailer but directly to a specified address. You receive information about a desired item's availability from WMS via b2b shop, EDI or from the ERP system.
What is more, the recipient’s and the sender's addresses are automatically printed on the parcel label as well as delivery notes using WMS without any additional effort – all in the desired corporate design.
This is how drop shipping can help save shipping costs and time as well as keep a satisfied retail customer.
Flexibility and cost constraints are important issues when it comes to a company's competitiveness and performance. That is why it is important for manufacturing companies to keep an eye on warehousing costs. These primarily comprise fees for providing the necessary storage capacity as well as charges for warehouse handling – namely for storage, transfer and retrieval or order picking.
Our WMS provides you with the best possible support when managing various delivery methods and follow-up processes, so that you can move delivered goods swiftly to the next stage.
Thanks to a wide range of destination finding routines, goods received do not necessarily have to be warehoused. With its cross-docking functionality, our WMS achieves a fast turnover of goods which are accepted, transported internally and returned to the goods dispatch area as needed. This leads to shorter throughput times and minimises warehouse space requirements – and this helps you to save warehousing costs.
